Ran into the same issues as OP with 16.0.2 and Goldleaf on 0.10. 0.10.1 won't even access the USB drive. DBI 563 works without issue access my USB drive again and installing NSP's off USB drive. And has some nice features compared to Goldleaf. And it seems to be more detailed on info during install.This is application-installer for N.Switch. With this method, tinfoil and goldleaf allows you to drag the .nsp folder containing the pieces and install the folder as if it’s a complete NSP. It’s not too important to add compatibility for it because people using USB Installation have no need to split those NSPs but coming from the SD method mine were already split.

The most successful way for me to install games via USB is to use Hekate’s USB tools and then dragging the split NSP files (if they need to be split) onto my SD card. Then ejecting and installing through the file browser in Tinfoil. I’ve tried using NUT, but it just has way higher chance of giving me errors, so I don’t use that method ...
